Info: SETAREH X is pleased to present the solo show skulls, trees, clouds by Berlin based artist Janes Haid-Schmallenberg. Time is an intrinsic property of every object. A phenomenon ruled by a linear timeline model which is uniform and irreversible. The new series of paintings by Janes Haid-Schmallenberg explore the different temporalities through studies of a variety of unique scenes, which, frozen in time, represent a collision of both theoretical and empirical realms. Different temporalities coexist simultaneously, displaying their own narratives on the canvas. Skulls, trees and clouds, common elements to all paintings are presented in parallel situations, existing both within the specific situations they are represented in and as a whole. The elements question, throughout the works, the effect of time and it’s different manifestations.
