Verena Lueken’s new book, Alte Frauen, explores their stories and reflects on freedom, creativity, and resilience in later life — including a chapter on Isabella Ducrot, which Lueken will read from during the evening. Verena Lueken shaped the arts section of the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung for many years as an author and critic with articles on film, literature, feminist and American topics. She has been awarded the International Journalism Prize and the Michael Althen Prize for Criticism for her journalistic work. Her guide to New York became a long-term bestseller. Her novels Alles zählt and Anderswo were enthusiastically received by the press. Verena Lueken lives in Frankfurt am Main and Berlin.
