Info: The Breathing Corridor is jointly organized by ThisThat Gallery (Düsseldorf) and LIED (Chengdu, China), fostering a dialogue between Europe and Asia through art and philosophy. Bringing together six artist—Lhamo Yue Liu, Li Shurui, Paul Galas, Ryo Kinoshita, Wang Yi, and Zhang Hanyang—the exhibition investigates how two contrasting cycles shape contemporary existence: the outward, consumptive repetition of digital media, and the inward, contemplative rhythm of Zen practice. Curated by Cao Yixiao, the exhibition transforms the gallery into a metaphorical corridor where these two forces resonate and collide. Visitors are invited to navigate between distraction and mindfulness, exploring repetition not as mere sameness but as a space for difference and awareness. In this shared breathing space, art becomes a medium of reflection across cultures, asking a subtle yet urgent question: Can we still choose another state of being?
