spaces of art

Info: spaces of art is a cultural project initiated by Nidus. Based in Düsseldorf, the company runs the first architecture gallery in the capital of North-Rhine-Westphalia. The gallery shows exhibitions on the intersection of architecture, city, culture and arts. Not always, but on a regular base, the shown exhibitions are closely connected to the rich architecture of the city of Düsseldorf. The project spaces of art starts as an exhibition presenting art institutions in Düsseldorf ranging from galleries to private collections and museums. The exhibition circles around the architecture of these art related spaces which show a vast variety of typology, size and program. Photographs, drawings and interviews with the head curators invite viewers to explore the architectural framework and its influence on the exhibition of art. While bridging the gap between architecture and art, the exhibition will also connect analogue and digital spaces: what will begin as a physical exhibition in the rooms of Nidus Architecture Gallery will continue to grow in the form of a digital architecture guide for spaces of art. (…) On display: Kunstakademie, Kunstpalast, Langen Foundation, Linn Lühn, Sammlung Philara, Schmela Haus, Schönewald, The Palace, The Pool.
