Info: Color touches us directly. First of all, color is nothing other than what it is. Color is not a thought, is not an idea. Color communicates on entirely non-verbal levels. (…) The approach to Stoya‘s paintings is a sensually direct one, committed to beauty and joy and driven by the not entirely impossible utopia for happiness and improvement of desolate world conditions. The technique of his painting with unbound pigment is singular and largely responsible for the outstanding power of color. The directness of the application of paint and the fact that the work is done without sketches and preliminary drawings corresponds to the immediate access, which is always the artist’s approach towards his work.
