Info: FORT present new works in their third solo show at Sies + Höke. The artistic duo use everyday objects to open up fields of tension between recognition and disconcertment. In the reconstruction and defamiliarisation of the supposedly familiar, subtle atmospheres of eerie emptiness emerge. With new works that place a particular focus on the sculptural work in FORT’s oeuvre, Alberta Niemann and Jenny Kropp of the artist collective narrate about the coming into being and passing away anchored in life from the perspective of artistic creation. Like the grains of sand in an ever-rotating hourglass, poetic-sculptural states of suspension intermingle with object-formed motifs of memento mori and vanitas. (…)
